QM Standard 3 – Assessment and Measurement

Learning objectives must align with measurable and authentic assessment activities that indicate what students should be able to do upon completion of course learning materials. Clear guidelines, frequent and timely feedback, and the ability for students to track their progress will reduce student questions and confusion.

The Center for Instructional Technology and Training at University of Florida has the following assessment resources you may find helpful:

DePaul University's information on assessing learning and feedback and grading are excellent resources.

Additionally, the Teaching Online Pedagogy Repository (TOPR) has great assessment resources you should check out as well.

Assessment and measurement of student learning can be accomplished in a number of ways in Brightspace. We have a few assessment and measurement examples available for you to review.

Brightspace workshops are routinely offered through the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Faculty Development (CAT+FD). Check the CAT+FD events page for our current workshop offerings. If you prefer individual Brightspace help, schedule a one-on-one session with Janice Florent.
