I'm a constituent and a voter. I'm writing to urge you to support and vote for a carbon pricing bill in the future when there is an opportunity to enact this policy. New research concludes that the U.S. must enact a carbon price to be able to cut climate pollution 50% by 2030. The new research appears in the Hamilton Project / Brookings Institution report, "Climate Tax Policy reform options in 2025" (link below). Passing a carbon fee such as the Energy Innovation Act (H.R.5744) is one of the most cost-effective ways of curbing climate pollution throughout the economy, while having a negligible impact on home energy bills.
