QM Standard 7 – Learner Support
The course should facilitate access to institutional support services essential to student success. Students should be encouraged to use the services that support student success.
Xavier's support services that are important to online/hybrid student success are:
- Online's Student Resource Center Online Learning Support
- Technical Support
- Brightspace Help
- Office of Disability Services
- Student Academic Success Office
- Writing Resource Center
- Counseling and Wellness Center
- Financial Aid
- Student Services (Student Life)
- Xavier University Library
There are a number of ways you can encourage students to use these services and to place links to these services in your Brightspace course. We've prepared some learner support examples for your review.
Brightspace workshops are routinely offered through the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Faculty Development (CAT+FD). Check the CAT+FD events page for our current workshop offerings. Individual Brightspace help is also available by scheduling a one-on-one session with Janice Florent.
